Budgie bleeding

I have a parakeet who is bleeding at the top of his head. Is there anything I can apply to the wound to make it right. He had the same wound a few weeks ago(cleared up on it's own) but it has happened again and i'm concerned.

Thanks Flyer. We put some neosporin on the cut before i went to work today. When i came home his face was totally red. I'm guessing he rubbed his face on perches a lot today and it spread all over. I will put some more neosporin on it again tonight. I am also going to trim his nails but should i cut any of the pin feathers away that seem to be bothering him? We have two other budgies who do not scratch( Sammy does not either) like he has been and we keep the cage clean. Thanks in advance.

thats excellent advice from Flyer... in the wild birds usually have a mate preen them to get rid of the feather casings but your guy is doing his best on his own.

The bleeding has stopped this morning and he has not been scratching. I'll put some more neosporin on the cut before i leave for work. It's funny you should mention removing the white stuff because one of the other budgies is doing that right now. It's good to see them help each other out. Seeing a white budgie with a head full of blood has been sort of a horror show but it seems to be getting better, thanks for you help with this.
